Superstitiones e signa nell’immaginario Lunare altomedievale

Resumen


[Ita] Questo articolo si propone di chiarire come gli scrittori cristiani in epoca altomedievale abbiano cercato di sradicare i culti idolatrici legati alla luna. Autori quali Massimo di Torino, Cesario d’Arles e Isidoro di Siviglia interpretarono in chiave cristiana i prodigi e la simbologia che la tradizione pagana aveva associato alle eclissi. Interventi tesi a contrastare la diffusione di pratiche superstiziose si rintracciano in diverse fonti dell’epoca, tuttavia la luna rimaneva un “oggetto” astrologico di grande interesse, poiché l’osservazione delle sue varie fasi si riteneva utile sia per predire gli avvenimenti futuri sia per la preparazione e la somministrazione di cure mediche.
