Cathedral Chapter, Jaén, CultAbstract
The cathedral chapters play a fundamental role in the ecclesiastical organization and in the daily life of the parishioners at the Low Middle Ages. The cathedral chapter members ("capitulares") should serve of example, complying with its obligations of worship and service in the cathedral, so much to clergymen as to laypersons. In spite of the fundamental thing of this task, the low economic compensation that they receive to change carries to a lack of fulfilment with these tasks of cult. We have an example of this situation in the Jaén cathedral chapter, where this problem is going to extend in the time.
