Abstract

This paper underscores the importance that the local attorney had at the Courts, as a representative of the King's Estate. In spite of the fact that this figure has not been whoolly studied up to now, it furnishes us with a lot of information. Analyzing the Memorials given to these messengers by the government of the city—in this case Lleida—, it is possible to study the relationship between Lleida and the catalan Courts and, especially, what happened into the King's Estate and the arrangements that the city kept up with the Crown.
