The article analyzes the making of the Diputació del General or Generalitat of Catalonia, which came to life as a Commission appointed by the Com held in Cervera and in the next Assemblies that followed it, in order to manage the gift (donatiu) designed to finance the War with Castile, from 1357 to 1369. The article points out also the different periods through which the institution became consolidated and standing, after having been temporary, because of the need of managing the extant Public Debt. Finally, the paper explains the performance of Deputies as executors of the issues of the Assemblies held during the ten years studied.
