Abstract

The inheritances among the Aragonese mudejars during the reign of James II followed a strict regulation described in the Christian ordennances, in the Çuna and the Xara legislation.
This regulation had to be respected by the aljamas, by the Crown and also by the royal clerks, although it was often modified according to the historical moment or the particular circumstances.
The documentation consulted in the Aragon's Crown Archive, mainly the chancellery's registers and the royal letters, allowed us to know the destination of the sarracen's possessions and other affairs about inheritances.
