In Castile, the quantity and the composition of the nobility's fortunes is not very known at the end of 15th century and the beginning of the 16th. The studies about Military Orders have been mainly based on institutional patrimony from economics and institutional point of view and also on the relationships of dependency between peasant and the knights. In this paper, we have studied the nobility's fortune through the case of Saint-James Order Knights in 1505, as a representative group of the Castilian nobility in this period.
