Around XVth century merchants were gathered in Barcelona as a strong social and economic group. Here we analyze a serie of documents (mainly Testaments and Matrimonial writings) in which we can check the presence of some significant medieval works of art. In these works we find a special religious iconography who comes to show us the particular mentality and the aesthetic sensibility expressed by a remarcable number of members belonging this social group. These particularities allow us to describe an original merchants' religious culture towards XVth century in Barcelona. The kernel of this sort of merchants' artistic religiosity comes to confirm, once again, the very strong symbolism of medieval culture and the deep interdisciplinary relation between Art, History and Religion in the Middle Ages in Catalunya.
