In many respects, the XIIth century in Western Europe generally and more specifically the kingdom of France, is a time of economic revival. The intensification of trade, the expansion of commerce and the renaissance of a monetary economy are naturally profitable to towns, to the mightiest princes and also to the monarchy. Henceforth and considering human beings and attitudes of mind, the Capetian's income is better exploited, administered and used by royal entourage, which has also been renewed although this income remains, on the whole, traditional and domanial.
