Throughout this study it is important to highlight the fundamental role that the members of the chapter performed in the geroninian project. For this outstanding group of people, basically coming from the low nobility of Alt Empordà, the new building enterprise resulted in the possibility of satisfaying the desire of promoting ecclesiastic benefits, as well as the objective of having new spaces —the chapels of the choir— conceived as the expression of glory and individual memory as well as the lineage.
