Pere sa Sala (✝1480), royal scrivener and citizen of Barcelona, notes in a memorandum in his will, which books (held by other people) belong to him and which books (that he holds) belong to others. This allows us to see a sample of his excellent library. Besides, Pere sa Sala copied books, lent books, accepted books as a guarantee for loans, and exchanged books. A book was for him both a cultural tool and an economic object.
