During the Middle Ages last centuries the authorities of the cities and villages in Andalucía developed a policy whose goal was to assure the food supply, mainly grains of most of the population. The Ordenanzas Municipales show the purpose to achieve these objectives. These laws form a set of normative clauses, usually grouped following thematic criterion that comprise a wide and diverse set of the daily life issues of those communities. The normatives dictated by the concejos, related to the provision of bread, are comprised in the law mentioned above. These normatives can be summarized in the followind actions: control of the food supply; commercial activities inspection; and surveillance and punishment of fraud.
